Designing a 10,000 foot penthouse, a lavish wedding reception, interior decorating a room using only a speciality store, redesigning a celebrities kitchen? this is Design Star, the reality show that gives the winner their own TV show. The eclectic group, which includes a former beauty pageant finalist and mother of two from Utah, as well as three Harvard graduates, represents various lifestyles and life stages, personalities and preferences, education and experience, but all must prove their mettle in devilishly clever design challenges. Each week one designer is eliminated by the ruthless judges - ?Your show has been cancelled'. During the competition, several finalists discover that the real-life demands of a weekly television show is a lot to handle ? putting their design and hosting skills to the ultimate test.
