Athos Kyriakides

Athos Kyriakides has been working in the film and television industry in Los Angeles, London and South Africa, as a Writer, Director and Script Editor for the last 13 years. He started out in Los Angeles with U.S. company October Films in 1999 as an intern working in Development and Acquisitions. During his time there he worked on a range of acclaimed international films (including Being John Malkovich, Topsy Turvy, The Idiots, The Apostle and Traffic). He moved to London in 2001 and for several years worked as a Story-Editor/Script Consultant for the British Film Council, Film Four, BBC Drama, Momentum Pictures and Paramount Pictures. He consulted on a range of projects including Source Code, Looper, Cloud Atlas, A Dangerous Method, The Fighter, Now Is Good, On The Road, and Seven Psychopaths. He has written more than 150 episodes of e-tv's prime-time soap drama Scandal between 2005 and 2008 in South Africa. He was also the Head Writer of the crime drama series Mshika-shika for M-NET's Mzansi Magic, directing 3 episodes in 2012. Most recently he was the Head Writer of post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi, Room 9 produced by Dv8 Films for SABC1, directing 2 episodes. In 2013, he wrote the now in production, feature documentary, Mandela's Gun, for British filmmaker John Irvin, and is currently the Senior Resident writer for daily drama Isidingo.
