Tommy Riordan, an ex-Marine with a tragic past, returns to his hometown to participate in the biggest MMA tournament in history. He asks his alcoholic father (Nick Nolte) for help, but Tommy's estranged brother Brendan also plans to compete in the tournament. Brendan is a former MMA fighter who is now trying to support his family as a school teacher.
